Aga

This is the Aga in & working, new strawberry wallpaper above, looks fab. I'm so happy with it. Even better that we built it ourselves, no £500 bill from an Aga installer. Just downloaded & printed out a PDF that cost £15, easy actually, but very very heavy & dirty!

New carpet!

Finally our house has carpet, after 3 years of drafts & windy floorboards, I feel like I live in the best house in the world!

Had the best day with the girls at the beach, an amazing afternoon, rockpools, shells, crabs, little fish, pretty pebbles, paddling in the icy sea...Wow...needed a beautiful day out.

Cream Aga

The Aga is coming along nicely, although has been a bit tricky as oil is new to us and there are lots of bits we haven't seen before, but just need to connect the flue & run the oil & we'll be warm again...

The last days of summer..

Had a beautiful walk in our woods today, took all the dogs & they had a wonderful time. Ben enjoyed it too :-)

New Aga

Our red Aga has been dismantled & is sitting in the stable waiting to be collected & this is the larger plinth for our new cream Aga! Been picked up in lincolnshire today and should be here by the end of the week... rather excited! :-)

Loving this little foal, he's just so friendly, I could spend hours with him, he's got some very dark fuzz appearing on his bottom and his forelock has begun to look a bit afro!

My big girl has flown the nest...

My Holly has left for Australia, 18 years old & so brave. She left on Thursday, flew to Singapore, then on to Sydney & then to Melbourne. All on her own!! She's had all her bags lost by BA, poor girl, but has managed to get herself a job up the mountain in the snow yesterday.!! She's so lucky & I'm so proud of her. I miss her more than she knows. It's so hard, her being so far away, she could be out there a year...so much changes in a year :-(

A lovely two days...

My mum & lovely sister came to stay! We've had a fab two days, crammed in as much as possible & I'm pretty exhausted now.
I miss my sister, I wish I could just pop over for a cuppa & a chat right now... 600 miles apart is just too many :-(

Hazels foal

Hazels beautiful foal was born last night at 12.20am. Little colt, just what I wanted, he's perfect in every way, I'm so pleased & proud of her.

Mercedes!

It's here!! So happy, the girls & I took it for a drive in the rain with the roof down, so funny, they had their arms up in the air shouting woohoo!!! Mummy got a fab car to have fun in :0))

New car!

Im so excited...I've just bought myself a Mercedes convertible!!! Possibly a mid life crisis, I don't care! Love it & want to have fun in it, can't wait! Lovely husband is driving it up this weekend :0))

The kitchen cupboards

I'm so pleased with the painted cupboards in the kitchen, it's brightened it up, just need to sand & varnish the wooden worktop. With so many kids & dogs, the kitchen sees alot of activity, let's hope Farrow & Ball are up to the job!

Look how gorgeous the little ducks are!!

Today the ducklings had their first taste of freedom with the hens & the 'big' pond! They were so funny, they were all worried about getting in... but once in I didn't think they were ever going to get out!

Painting the kitchen

After months of wondering what to do with the kitchen, the red Aga causing me the dilemma!! Because I fancy blue... but it just won't go with the Aga! so I'm not going to strip my strawberry wallpaper, even though I wanted to have a fresh start.
I've decided to paint the pine doors & the larder cupboard in cream. Farrow & Ball Matchstick. I've under coated & now I'm painting... It's gorgeous stuff!

Silkie chicks!

So pleased, we've just had two white silkie chicks hatch! :-)

Ducklings

The Call ducks have been moved outside, the weathers lovely & warm. The ducklings are getting bigger & need more space. I think they're loving life outside!

Guinea pigs...

Came home from school today to discover my very naughty spaniel had ripped open the chicken wire & killed the guinea pigs, such an awful sight. Two were just lying in the grass & Doogle was actually in her mouth when we pulled in the drive. Girls are distraught, cried for ages, I wish they hadn't seen them like that, poor girls & poor little guys, they were so loved, I just feel so bad.

ISA Browns

These are the new girls, bought at the auction on Saturday, looking healthier by the day.

A day at the auction!

Fab day at our local livestock auction, after watching the ponies for an hour, nothing took my fancy. So we moved on into the poultry auction. I won 5 ISA Brown hens, little sweethearts, don't think they've ever been on grass before the way they behaved when I took them out of the box. They could have been brought up in a barn perhaps, their feathers are quite dull & combs very pale. Give them a week or so & they'll look completely different after foraging in the grass & getting the sun on their backs.Also won 4 little Call ducklings. Megs fault! Little yellow fluff balls in a box. There were a few people wanting them, so pleased we got them :0)Although they're living in the kitchen by the Aga at the moment! It will be a few weeks before they're put outside. Weather needs to warm up first as well.

Gorgeous Guinea pigs!

Had a trip to Pets at home today & came home with 2 gorgeous guinea pigs, a fluffy brown one called Dougal & a brown & white one, called Oscar. Meg & Lola are delighted with the little sweethearts, but are not allowed to pick them up for two days so that they have time to settle in. So they're playing next to them instead so they can watch everytime they come out to play!
